Clockwise

Casey is a time traveller.  This is not her wish at all.  She travels back to the same place in 1860 every time, so it is almost as if she has two lives.  She never knows how long she will be in 1860 but when she returns to the 19th century no time has been lost at all.  No one but her best friend can tell she has been away.

Now... This travelling is enhanced with stress and stress is exactly what Nate Mackenzie, who she secretly admires, does to her.  When he is dared to dance with her, she takes him on an adventure.  It takes a while for him to believe her but having to live days in the 1860's, makes it all too convincing.  He sees another side of Casey but cant admit this as she doesn't fit into his perfect life back home.

Oops... She takes him for another journey and his girlfriend is becoming an issue

The rest you will need to read.  I quite liked the portrayal of life in 1860 compared to life today.  It's a good read.  Clockwise is the first in a series of 4 books.  I am looking forward to reading Clocked. It is the story from the perspective of Nate, which I think is very clever of the author,  Elle Strauss.

  2. Hi Richelle,

I can't seem to find how to contact you, but you sounded like the kind of person that would really appreciate what I am trying to achieve with my book and so I wondered if you would take a look at it with a view to sharing your opinion?

I am a new author and have just finished writing my first children’s adventure story which is going through its final editorial stages with my copyeditor and will be available in approximately two weeks.

It is about an eleven year old boy, Jake Summers, who finds himself on an adventure in a long-forgotten magical world where together with his class-mate Arianna and a strange creature called Noggin, he has to race against time through five deadly challenges to fulfil an ancient magical prophecy and save the world.

It is along the lines of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and like that story, I have attempted to weave good strong family values and the importance of forgiveness. It would appeal most to those who enjoy the likes of Fablehaven, Harry Potter and Percy Jackson.

It is the first in an intended series, although I’m not sure at this point, how many there will be.

I would be extremely grateful if you would consider reviewing it for me, it is called Guardian of the Underworld and you can find it on Goodreads, the synopsis is below this message and it will be available in paperback, PDF and ebook format.

I look forward to hearing from you,

    Kind regards

    Rachel Tetley

    SYNOPSIS

    Two worlds

Neither can exist without the other

And one guardian to ensure their survival

But a family with a score to settle

Forces one boy, into a dangerous adventure

Jake Summers is an ordinary boy with an ordinary family- so he thinks. He has just spent another summer holidays building dens in the woods with his best friend Paul. But when someone special unexpectedly dies, Jake is determined to find out the truth, unaware that it will change his life forever.

He discovers a key to Grandpa’s forbidden room, and is plunged into a long-forgotten magical world, together with class mate Arianna Brown and a strange creature called Noggin. Stormy seas, underground carts pulled by Golden Eagles and a dragon all stand in his way. He must race against time to fulfil an ancient magical prophecy and save the world.
